The city is under Ukraine's control, but is part of a region Russia says annexed last month.
Zaporisigiza has been repeatedly hit in recent weeks, after Russia countered urban areas after undergoing defeat in southern and northern Ukraine.
Part of the Zaporizhja region, including its nuclear power plant, which is about 52km from the town, has been under Russian control since the beginning of the invasion.
Ukrainian officials initially said the death toll in 17, but later revised it.
