Rizvanolli: Electricity tariff price not government competence

Energy Minister Artane Rizvanolle, at the parliamentary session in the Kosovo Assembly, has once again said that the price of tariffs is not the competence of the government, but has added that if there is extraordinary review, then they expect results and depending on them to take measures to protect the consumer. “
“As regards exchange with Albania throughout the year, exchanges are certainly made, of course, we deposit more in Albania in the period when we have surpluses during the summer mainly. So far from KEK in KESH, 138 thousand and 888 megavat hours have been deposited, but this could also continue to grow. As far as tariff prices are concerned, we certainly know this is not the competence of either the ministry or the government's”, Rizvanolli said.
She added that she would stand alongside citizens in all possible ways to cope with the energy crisis.
“If there is extraordinary review, we expect results and then take measures as needed to protect consumers. During the recent review of the fee in February, the government has pledged 90m euros to subsidise citizens' bills, of which 46m euros have been disbursed. This is going on, we don't actually have an open fee. If there's going to be a tax review, the moment estimates are made by the power regulator's office, then we can talk about potential subsidisation, continued subsidization or government growth. We have been clear since the beginning of the crisis that we are dedicated to and determined to stand up to citizens in all possible ways to deal with the crisis, including the subsidisation of energy bills that are already taking place by February”, Rizvanelli added.
