He said we are also marking the start of a new production company, a new investment. Whatever our economy needs. Production, investment. Investment in production”, the prime minister said before those present at the ceremony.
Recalling the time of the pandemic with COVID-19 and the challenges of confronting it, he also recalled professional instructions that, besides keeping distance, hygiene, and masks, it was recommended, even that instead of glass and porcelain glasses, a paper cup be used.
“E today are opening up a paper cup production factory. The investment value exceeds over a million euros, with the goal of increasing production potential in the future. The gap among other things has spread to us a serious defect in our economy; dependence on import, and lack of local productivity, but as entrepreneurs see the chance of hardship, governments need to see opportunities for reform in crisis like that of the pandemic, Prime Minister Kurti said further.
Kurti, despite the crisis that has plagued the country, said Kosovo had economic growth under its government.
Full word of Prime Minister Kurti:
Dear Mr. Abdel Judrella and Mr. Fadil Halili,
Honored deputies of the Republic Assembly,
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Brothers and sisters,
I'm glad I got the invitation to be here with you today. My typical daily agenda is in charge of numerous meetings usually held within the walls of an institution or an organization. Today, except that we are not in the office, we are also marking the start of a new production company, a new investment. Exactly what our economy needs. Production, investment. Investment in production.
The origin of the Royal Pepper Cups is the most typical example of the entrepreneurial soul, the soul that sees opportunities in trouble. I was informed that the idea was born during the time of the pandemic. I guess you remember that time when, besides instructions for distance, hygiene, masks, it was recommended that instead of glass and plastic glasses, and porcelain, we have one drink of paper. And today we're opening up a paper cup factory. The investment value exceeds over a million euros, with the goal of increasing production potential in the future.
Among other things, we had a serious defect in our economy; dependence on imports and lack of local productivity. But as entrepreneurs who see the chance of hardship, even governments need to see opportunities for reform in crisis, such as that of pandemic. So since then our focus as government has been and it is the reorient of the economy in terms of local productivity.
Within the context of the Economic Renewal Pack, we have supported businesses as well. So far we have subsidized investment loans for 357 manufacturing businesses, with the aim of expanding their production capacities.
We've supported 43 businesses owned by women, covering 20 percent of the head of the capacity-growing loan.
107 businesses have benefited from the support for liquidity through subsidies of 10 percent of the credit office.
Through the 2.4 measure of our package, we have supported 75 manufacturing and exporter businesses in quality growth, the establishment and growth of management staff, representation at fairs abroad, and the branding of products.
The support of the Kosovar Fund for Creday Guarantee has also played an important role to enable the guarantee of 120m euros in additional loans to businesses in dealing with the effects of pandemic.
Meanwhile, for businesses we are continuing to subsidize electricity.
Above all, with good governance, fair and developmental, we are offering an appropriate climate of doing business. The following year, we marked economic growth of 10. 7 percent gross domestic product and in the first three months of this year's year 4.9 percent gross domestic product after inflation is reduced. And this is more than any other year in the history of our country and the region. The World Bank predicts that the Republic of Kosovo will have the fastest economic growth in the Western Balkans during the period 2022-2024. Last year, exports have been 83.6 percent higher than compared to the previous year and this year are also 29.5 percent higher than they were in 2021. This year for the value of exports is expected to exceed the figure of 1 billion euros. Budget revenues are for 1/3 higher than last year, while foreign direct investments have increased by 22 percent.
All of this is evidence that Royal Pepper Cups is starting its journey at a time of opportunity. So, I congratulate you and wish you great success in the future.
Congratulations on you may be the invitation and call for others to invest in the producer to cover the local market, increase exports, expand the company, and increase employment.
Cheers and thank you.
