The remaining 51% belongs to the Yoovedhija family, with which Mateschitz had collaborated in producing energy drinks with the same name. Mr. Mateschitz's wealth is estimated at around 25 billion euros, placing it 51st on Forbes' list of the richest people in the world.
He used the wealth created by energy drinks to create the team from Forum 1. The “is very, very sad, what the great man” said, the director of the Red Bull team, Christian Horner, while adding that what he has done for many people, worldwide in various sports, is invaluable.
Mateschitz's death is not meant to threaten the future of Red Bull or his sister team Alpha Tauri. Formula's chief executive, Stefano Domenicali, said it was “deeply grieving” and called it Mateschitz “an extremely respected and highly beloved member of the Forum family 1”.
