This antiaircraft system is older and would be taken from US Army stocks to help Kiev forces bring down fears and Russian missiles, US officials said.
HAWK, it's a land-air missile tracking system, medium-range action and if sent to Ukraine, it would be a more advanced system than Stinger's Which is a shorter-range air defence system that the US has already offered Ukraine.
HAWK is built according to Vietnam-era technology, but since then the system has been updated several times.
The HAWK system is a predecessor of the PATRIOT missile defence system produced by Raytheon Technology, which the US has said will not send to Ukraine, said American officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity for Reuters agency.
US President Joe Biden has promised his Ukrainian counterpart, Voldymyr Zelensky, that Washington will give Kiev advanced air protection systems, following a devastating wave of air attacks carried out this month by Russia on Soviet frameworks and Ukrainian infrastructure.
Since the beginning of Ukraine's unprohibited Russian invasion on February 24th, the US has sent military assistance to Kiev, worth $17.6 billion.
