With 61 votes for Kosovo's Parliament has approved the Government's request to extend emergency measures for power supply for another month.
Opposition parties boycotted the government's vote of this move, as the hearing was previously postponed due to lack of quorum, because meetings of the two parliamentary commissions were being held at the same time. The opposition opposed the session's delay, but when the sessions resumed they did not participate in the vote for emergency measures.
The executive has earlier said that extending emergency measures is made for “normalisation total” of the current state.
“The extension of these measures is made due to increased energy demand and the unstable state of electricity supply”, said the Government's announcement received September 23rd.
The Kosovo government has warned that the country will face a difficult winter, due to the energy crisis gripping Europe, caused by Ukraine's unprotested Russian invasion and increased energy import prices.
