Kosovo's Parents' Council through a Facebook post has called on the government to execute salaries for students.
Their response also says that strikes in compulsory education should be regulated by law, rather than by other forms of “discipline”.
“As the Parents' Council, we have been acting out, rationally, and always stated in the constitutional and human right of our children to care for, education, and undeniable public education. Our main opposition is linked to the SBASK monopolising right to “shut down” of “spread “> schools according to estimates of few individuals and to full harm to parents' children”, it is said in their post.
On the other hand, they say they disagree to create an even more serious situation than the strike itself.
However, we never agree that we will create an even more serious situation (the strike itself) and all those teachers will be left without wages for something the state of Kosovo has consistently accepted and never been denied wages. Strikes in compulsory education must be regulated by law, rather than by other forms “discipline”. Therefore, as the Kosovo Parents' Council, we call on Kosovo Government institutions to conduct the full execution of salaries of teachers without delay. If you can't do your education better, at least don't make it worse”, it's said in their post.
