Osman for visas: We're optimistic, but it all ends on October 13th.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, at a media conference in Prague, has also spoken of the October 13th meeting, where the point of the agenda is also the visa issue for Kosovo and has been expressed with optimism, but has said that we should be careful about that meeting, as it does not end all there and that there are many more steps to go into effect.
She also talked about meetings she had at this summit.

“As far as Greece's prime minister is concerned I've met him twice before at detailed bilateral meetings for reports between Kosovo and Serbia, so this is the third time I've met him, and Slovakia's prime minister is the first time I've met him. These are states that have not recognised Kosovo, but both have constructive attitudes because they have never blocked Kosovo's European path. I had the opportunity to seek support beyond them with some of the issues we are facing now and I am hoping that we are on the right track but in the end these will be the decisions of institutions of these two states, we have explained our arguments about why it is important Kosovo to walk in international mechanisms. As I said, now we will wait for their decisions. What is important is these states have never blocked visa liberalisation for Kosovo, and parts are non-recognition states in fact supported us publicly”, she said.

Osmani has indicated that they expect that the 13 October meeting meeting of the visa processing group will be heard by all these states in their vocal support, regardless of what their stance is on independence.

We hope, of course, we're optimistic, but we're also careful about that meeting, but it doesn't all end up there because there's a lot of other steps you know until you get into force. What's important is that today a review of the European Commission has been sent to all member states is extremely positive, and at the same time this confirmation of the EC reports all member states even for all reforms that have been carried out this year and a half, praising them as positive reform”, she said.

The public elders also spoke of the meetings they had in Prague with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron.

We've discussed the dialog. France and Germany at the highest levels are making efforts to intensify dialogue, but as Kosovo's representative I've presented what are our red lines, which are about protecting our country's territorial integrity, sovereignty, constitutionality and the enormous importance of Kosovo remaining a functional state, so we don't allow solutions that cause more problems than peace and stability in the region. Their teams will soon sit back with us to talk about what we discussed today”, President Osmani said.
