The price of flour, oil, bread, milk, eggs, tomatoes, potatoes, rice, beans, sugar, oil, gasoline and electricity has increased by a total of 50% in the past 20 months.
What has been bought at 100 euros early last year, should be bought at 150 euros today. These are not luxury products, nor are they substituted. They are an essential part of monthly spending for every family in the country.
Removing the VAT for these basic products only damages the country's budget. Removing the VAT significantly facilitates the sustainability of Kosovars in this unprecedented crisis.
This is our proposal from March of this year.
