Barry Reiss-Andersen, head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, said “we are living in a difficult security situation and a tense world”. For 2022, there were 343 candidates, of whom 251 are individuals and 92 are organisations.
The Nobel Prize for Peace carries a major international prestige. It's also worth a large sum of money, 10 million Swedish chrones (897,000 dollars).
This prize is shared among the winners when there is more than one.
