In his video footage at NATO's 102nd Rose-Roth Senate Parliamentary Assembly, Connolly said that Russian invasion has violated the world's security landscape, while democratic countries must stand side by side to overcome this challenge.
With this aggression Russia wants to destroy democracy in Ukraine and do it anywhere. Our states must stay with each other with all democratic nations to fight this crime Russia is committing against other democracies... Our security is closely related to this Western Balkans and Euro-Atlantic states must work together to overcome the challenges of the region and prevent destabilisation from non-democratic powers such as Russia and China”, he said.
Swiss Ambassador to our country Thomas Cally said that the fact that Kosovo is welcoming this seminar for the second time shows it is committed towards security in the Western Balkans, but also in Europe.
He said that for Switzerland peace and stability in the Western Balkans it is very important.
Our “Dictions are at a common goal, promoting a peaceful and democratic future for the Western Balkans in the context of the European integration of this region... In light of Russia's war in Ukraine that is contrary to national law and fundamental values, the discussion of security that concerns the continent of Europe is more important than ever in view of current security challenges, promoting democratic standards and the role parliament has in supervision is extremely important... Peace in the Western Balkans remained one of Switzerland's foreign policy priorities. Switzerland's contribution to peace and stability in the Western Balkans is multiple”, he said.
Today in Pristina, the 102nd Rose-Roth Semiary of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly started with the <x0-Atlantic integration of the Western Balkans -- long-standing challenges, new realities and future prospects“ -- in which more than 100 participants have been warned, including MPs from NATO member states and partner countries.
The three-day meeting will discuss future challenges and prospects for the Western Balkans in a variable European security environment, NATO's support for peace and stability in the region, governance and security sector reform in Kosovo, and parliamentary supervision over Kosovo security institutions. / KP/
