Mayors come up with proposal for Arberie Nagavcin about compensation of lost hours

This request has been submitted to Minister of Education, Science, Technology and innovation Arberie Nagavci this Friday.

In this request, signed by Association Chairman Agim Aliu, said that “the mayors of the municipalities share the opinion that compensation of lost classes should not be done on regular vacation days (endowments), what out of the practical assessment we have made as municipalities, would result in the irreparable”.

In their request, there are several reasons why the compensation of the hours cannot be made on Saturdays.

-The period of constant instruction during holidays would create cargo for children and their families, what would directly affect the decline in quality and motivation for learning;

- It would increase its heating and maintenance spending now, when in this category of expenditures, they are recognising high rates as costs, which harm municipal budgets. And the action in this form, in addition to increasing the financial cost of heating, increases the cost of electricity, which conflicts with government energy saving measures;

-It turns out that the functioning of heating in schools, now and how much time it's completely dependent on electricity supply, so the lack of electricity or long-term reductions would prevent the functioning of the heating system in schools, therefore would create the lack of normal and complete development of the teaching process;

The participation of students in the learning process, who use public transportation as a form of transportation, would increase the cost of families of these students when it is now known that even in this sector prices have increased, and eventually the flow of days of transportation can cause contractors to be unable to meet obligations, which would result in the release of students who are legally committed;

-as well as the problems and challenges of technical nature, organisational ones that would make it difficult and in certain cases, unable to develop the learning process, so as far as we can, judge by this situation.

Hence, they have proposed that the compensation of lost classes because of the general school strike be done by adding five hours of work to each student within a week in the sense of regular working days.

“So that it would be easier to face for all participants in the learning process, as well as to ensure the standards required for normal development of the learning process, which the municipal leader” has expressed reconciliation.

“Trusting your willingness to review your decision to compensate for lost classes, we expect to review the involvement of our proposals on this issue that distracts us all”.

Otherwise, salaries for employees in the education sector have been executed by the State Treasury on Friday afternoon.

Finance Minister Iron Murati reiterated that hours lost by strikes in education will be replaced according to the new teaching calendar approved by the Ministry of Education.

Under the Ministry's decision, Saturdays will also be worked.
