Prime Minister Albin Kurti has written on the 25th anniversary of student protests, saying this movement accelerated efforts towards the country's liberation.
On October 1st, Albanian students restored dignity. By silence and injustice, they rose with the greatness of the will to live free. A student movement that accelerated efforts towards the liberation of the country” wrote Kurti in a Facebook post.
Kurti, who was one of the protest organisers, said students at the time peacefully marched to release the banned space of the university campus.
“We marched peacefully, for the release of banned space of the university campus, on the road to education and free education, infallible rights, freedom of independence”.
The “we always remember and honored professors and students of the October 1st protest, those who had the courage, who challenged Serbian occupation and made the resistance active”, finished first in the government.
