Kurti addresses Albanians in the Valley: You're far more than they present to you

Kurti, via a Facebook post, has written that despite numerous obstacles to Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc, all have been fully activated for a month in order to register, even those with temporary residences in Kosovo and diaspora.

“under normal circumstances and in countries with developed democracy and guaranteed freedoms, this process would be treated as a natural process, but under such circumstances Albanians do not live in Serbia. They face non-integration and violation of basic human rights”, Kurti wrote.

The prime minister has called for surveillance by the international community for the data processing process.

We are aware that even processing data, the process in which Albanians will not have access, is very important. Given Serbia's chief's scandalous statements that the figures presented, still without completion of the process, are figures inflated by Albanians, we seek observation by the international community. These statements testify why the population and property registration process is of historical and national importance to Albanians”, Kurti has declared.

Honored Albanian citizens in Serbia, girlfriends and brothers from Presevo, Medveja and Bujanovac,

From October 1st to today, when the census of population and property is about to end, Albanians living in Serbia and who are constantly facing discrimination on the basis of nationality, and recently, with a lack of address, responded massively to the census process.

From the first day, as prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, I called for the census not only to treat it as natural, but as national and historical action. Because Albanians in Serbia, with particular emphasis on Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc, are not treated equally with other citizens.

Under normal circumstances and in countries with developed democracy and guaranteed freedom, this process would be treated as a natural process, but in such circumstances Albanians do not live in Serbia. They face a lack of integration and violation of basic human rights.

Today, when a process of particular interest is completed for the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, information coming from Presevo, Medveja and Bujanovac are that despite the obstacles manifested during the census process, Albanians have been fully activated for a month in a row, to register all -- even those with temporary residence in Kosovo and the diaspora.

I am grateful today to all the Albanian political spectrum throughout, associations, nongovernmental organisations, religious clergy, and in particular to each Albanian recorder for the hard work of registering every Albanian for a month.

I also thank employers in Kosovo, who have freed workers from work for the days they needed for registration. At the same time, I call on them to do the same thing today's afternoon.

Dear co-workers,

We are aware that even processing data, in which Albanians will not have access, is very important. Given Serbia's chief's scandalous statements that the figures presented, still without completion of the process, are inflated figures by Albanians, we seek observation by the international community.
These statements testify why the population and property registration process is of historic and national importance to Albanians.

Dear sisters and brothers from Presevo, Medveja and Bujanovac, accept the warm greetings of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and my deep gratitude, to all Albanians there, who firmly testified that you are there, and that you are much more than they present to you.
