Klitschko said his country has remained badly due to numerous Russian attacks on thermal power plants, and the capital's network is operating in “Emergency modernity”, writes Dailymail, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
We're doing everything we can to save the lives of our people and protect them. But this winter will definitely be a big challenge for us”.
“Without blankets people in the country would freeze to death” Klitschko said.
Although Klitschko has bought some generators and received 1,000 mobile heating stations in Kiev, organised with his team's help, fears are still on the rise as the weather gets colder and Russians continue to attack the main infrastructure.
Because of significant electricity shortages, from 20% to 50%, the city's power supply system is functioning in emergency state”, Klitschko said in the telegram.
In the same post, Klitschko confirmed reports by regional governor and Ukrenergo, the state energy company, that Kiev and the surrounding region will have continued power cuts in the coming days.
Russian attacks have left 40 percent of Ukraine's energy infrastructure severely damaged.
