KEDS has reduced more than 40 per cent of electricity losses

Today, as the whole world, especially Europe, faces a major energy crisis, finding new heating alternatives is now necessary, along with it the mobilization of the vast amount of energy available.

The supply of electricity will also be a major challenge for Kosovo to face the coming winter. In us, the situation becomes even more alarming when lack of electricity to meet consumer needs is added to its misuse.

Since privatized KED, one of the priorities of this company, along with a host of other priorities, has been and continues to minimize losses in the power grid.

From then on, KEDS has increased controls on all consumers allegedly using electricity unauthorizedly. Consequently, those responsible by the KED Department of Loss, according to statistics, do about 400 such checks on daily bases throughout Kosovo. On average, 30 cases a day are recorded, misusing electricity.

EADS's authorised teams constantly do network inspections through special equipment for abuse detection, and, often accompanied by Kosovo Police, unscrew such consumers.

As a result of the maximum commitment of all of the companies, losses have been markedly reduced since 2013, when they were estimated to be 31,02 percent, resulting in 18.48 percent in 2021. So, KEDS for 8 and a half years has managed to reduce over 40 percent of total losses. But they are still calculated to be obvious, for which KEDS is committed to bringing this situation back to normal. Thanks to the firm commitment of KED workers, whose number amounts to 90 per day throughout Kosovo, and thanks to the newest technological equipment for measuring electrical exchanges, the result of detection of abuse cases is significantly greater than before. New device, U. NITECH, which has been using KEDS employees throughout Kosovo days ago, has given further impetus to detecting these cases. During 2021 alone, 8603 cases of electricity misuse have been recorded.

Despite the challenges KED workers face on a daily basis, they are committed to carrying out tasks seriously, always for the greater good of consumers.
