Andriy Yusov, a spokesman from the Ukrainian Army intelligence, said that within just a few weeks, nearly 2,000 people have called the phone line I want to live so they can surrender.
Calls have come from soldiers in Ukraine, from those in Russia who have been recruited and from those who have not even received a draft order, but still wanted to get acquainted with the procedures, Yusov claimed.
This development comes after Putin ordered the recruiting of 300,000 soldiers in order to be sent to the front lines in Ukraine to cover up his invasion failure.
Yusov said the calls have increased significantly since the offensive in Kharkiv and since then their number has increased.
Speaking of Ukraine's Freedom television, he said: “Since then, we have begun to accept calls not only from soldiers who are on Ukraine's territory as part of the invading forces, but also from those who have just been mobilized and from beyond to Russia's territory. Even people suspected of mobilizing” have appeared.
“in a few weeks, we have accepted more than 2,000 such requests”, he added.
Almost 370 thousand Russian civilians fled their country before facing the possibility of recruiting, according to Russia's neighbouring states. /Periscopi/
