I believe we soon proceed to the Kosovo Assembly, and this time it will be passed to the Assembly, for the fact it is an important document. During this time, we have had meetings with the parliamentary group, our government and the parliamentary quarter engage in advancing human rights. Given the importance of the Civil Code, we believe it will be approved in the Kosovo Assembly”, Haxhiu said after the government's meeting.
This is based on the meetings we have had with the parliamentary group. I'm not saying that each one of the group will vote for, there are still some who have their own positions and beliefs, but the government and parliamentary group mostly engage in advancing human rights. For the sake of the processes that we have appliance, for example the application to the Council of Europe, and for becoming a member, human rights must be respected. I hope we have the support not only of the parliamentary group, but also of the opposition”, she said.
By contrast, the Civil Code had failed in the Parliamentary Group of VV, as MPs were against the point allowing the co-existence of persons with the same gender.
