The government changes position for the deadline, only 15 plates “RKS”

The Kosovo Police's Fast Intervention Unit, KFOR and EULEX are more present than ever in northern Kosovo municipalities and near the border with Serbia. When the security situation in this section is calm until the decision is carried out on illegal license plates. [...]
The police who patrol at Caber are responsible for the safety of the village. A few kilometers away is the border with Serbia, but someone else cares about it. Until you get to this section, KFOR soldiers are stationed all the way. As he approached the border along Lake Weyman, he changes relief, and the uniform of those who take care of safety also changes.
Before they reach the ground, they first control the main road, as they are secured, the signal comes from the base. Throughout the length of Weyman Lake, they move in parallel, in co-ordination and strict security control. The case is that EULEX vehicles are behind them, as are similar missions. Except for the perimeter of the road that leads to a border, NJNSH also conduct routine checks.
On occasion, they check more specifically. The presence of the Kosovo Police and KFOR units has increased security in this part.
When we are seven days away from implementing the decision to remove illegal license plates, Albanians in this area wish they would not raise tensions and block roads.
We've all been witnesses in the past and we've seen there's been roadblocks. I hope this time there won't be, but we'll see”, said Sefer Vessel, resident of the village of Caber.
So does Ishmael Zuka, who says that “was not a good situation when roads were blocked. The population was under a measure of stress even then. But when we knew that the roads were freed, we felt safer”.
Less interested in talking about the license plates issue showed Serbs.
For now, as far as we know, very few have been warned, what this is going to be like, what politicians only know”, Bogdan Begovic said, about RTV Dukagjin.
Even when it comes to recording cars from illegal license plates in “RKS”
The Interior Ministry says Serbia's propaganda and parallel structures have caused results to be lacking until they are determined not to extend the conversion deadline.
We inform you that 15 citizens have so far converted vehicle plates from illegal plates to regular RKS: freedom of movement, equality, but rule of law is our priority. In time, we will continue the intensive campaign throughout Kosovo so that by October 31st this process can be completed”, the MPB says.
The Kosovo government until 31 October, but the European Union is taking another 10 months.
This extension of the deadline would allow a more basic and inclusive campaign for the affected population. The transition in tension and potentially violence in northern Kosovo should be averted. This is particularly important the cause of the current geopolitical context, in the sense of maintaining stability in the region”, is forwarded to the EU's spokeswoman, Peter Stanos's Office.
During the deadline for removing illegal plates are also seeking members of civil society in northern Mitrovica.
The “One of the solutions would be to extend the specified deadline, at least for several months. The period that would serve to intensify talks between Pristina and Belgrade until reaching a compromise solution. Whatever it will be, Milodrag Milicevik, executive director at the NGO “Objective”, said.
Milicevic says that seeing both sides' positions requires an acceptable solution, otherwise the security situation is at risk.
