They said that “attacks on the innocent civilian population constitute a war crime” in a joint statement following their meeting with Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky, the BBC writes.
G7 strongly condemned and “unequivocally” rejected the illegal attempt to annex areas occupied by Russia in Ukraine and reiterated that it would never recognise this “anex or the false referendum Russia uses to justify it”.
The G7 said it would continue to impose further economic sanctions on Russia and reiterated its call to the Belarusian authorities that “will stop fighting Russian aggression”.
“We will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military, diplomatic and legal support and we will stand firm with Ukraine as long as we need”, it says in their joint statement.
