The frightening picture shows what a nearby ant looks like

The amazing picture is one of 57 images of Photomicography contester in Little World.The terrible portrait was captured by Eugenius Cavaliauskas, a Lithuanian photographer, writes CNN.

This is the 48th year of the competition, which requires to know perfection in the picture through the” microscope.

Cavalyauskas used to work as a bird photographer before turning to insects, According to his website. He used reflective light to capture the shocking ant closely, with dark red eyes and what seems to be an angry expression.

Even though the image became viral on the internet, Cavalyauskas did not receive the top prize in the competition. The award went to Swedish photographers Grigori Tim and Michel Milinkovitch, who created a beautiful fluorent image in the front of the embryo of a giant Madagascar geco. They used a 63x zoom to document the veins and small bones of the hand.
