French writer Annie Ernaux won Nobel in Literature for her 2022 work, while being considered a favourite to grab the prize.
Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, one of the candidates to win Nobel, as he attended the ceremony, sitting at one of the premises in the Tirana Artificial Lake area, asked if he had been disappointed that he had not yet been able to win this award, replied there was no experience whatsoever.
I don't have any fun. 40 years ago I could even have”, Kadare told Euronews.
His wife, Helen Kadare, noted that the writer who won Nobel does not know him.
We do not know the writer who won Nobel, even though we live in France. I've never heard of it, knowing not that I didn't, but I never heard it as a name. While in Nobel it's the same jury that said no 40 years, you don't have to change your mind”, said writer Helena Kadare.
The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2022 is awarded to French author Annie Ernaux “for the courage and clinical keenness with which it reveals its roots, removals and collective personal memory restrictions”.
