France Creates 100m euro fund for Ukraine

France's president, Emmanuel Macron, said France has established a fund, initially of 100m euros, for Ukraine to buy directly weapons and other equipment it needs in the fight against Russia. “We are forming this special fund, initially 100m euros, to allow the purchase of equipment that we [...] have [...]
“We are forming this special fund, initially 100m euros, to allow the purchase of the equipment we have sent and that we will continue to do in terms of defence weapons”, Macron said at the Prague Summit.
He added that discussions are being held, especially with Denmark, to send more trucks that assemble the (CAESAR) cannons in Ukraine, after 18 that France has already sent.
“Finance has provided military aid to Ukraine since the first day with anti-tank systems and individual anti-aircraft systems”, Macron said.
This new fund, he said, “will allow work with the French protection base” and “will demonstrate our will to act as Europeans and join the collective effort to assist Ukraine”, writes France24, broadcast Klaankosova.tv.
France's fund will significantly increase France's military support in Ukraine, which so far has reached 233m euros, which is a small sum compared to what other allies have given.
The United States remains the largest military supplier in Ukraine with 25 billion euros in support until Britain has provided weapons and other military equipment worth about 4 billion euros, as well as Poland, worth 1.8 billion euros.
