According to the ministry, there is no plan, no initiative, no document proposed by any EU member state and no discussion about the possibility of suspending the visa-free movement of Albanian citizens.
“This news seems to be just a product of specific interests at a time when in Brussels it is being discussed to find out as soon as possible and without further unwarranted delays as possible to recognise the right of free movement of Kosovo citizens. Sadly, such false news, easily verifiable for the media or political forces, has echoed in the public sphere in Albania. ”- says Ministry.
The ministry emphasises that Albania is a trusted partner of the EU, and if there are concerns about increasing the number of illegal immigrants on the so-called Balkan route, they are treated and treated with seriousness and in close co-operation with our European partners.
Our “country has been the first in the region, which has signed the agreement with Frontex and has exemplary co-operation with all EU agencies and member states in coping with illegal immigration” -- is said further in the statement.
The ministry guarantees Albanian citizens that they are not at all endangered and at any moment by the right to move without visas in EU space.
