Southwestern France could register temperatures of between 27 and 30 degrees this weekend, the Meteo France meteorological Service announced today.
The temperature in areas along the border with Spain could increase by over 30 degrees.
The warmest air from the Canary Islands and the Iberian Peninsula ensures that temperatures in France are between 4 and 5 degrees Celsius above average for this period of year.
Recent days in many countries have broken the temperature records.
As Meteo France pointed out in its forecast, the warmer weather wave is taking place in the background of increasingly visible climate change.
The heat waves are not only becoming more frequent and intense but are taking place early and later in the year, such as this week.
