A SK: From CEFTA, Kosovo in September mostly imported from Serbia, while exporting to northern Macedonia

Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published recent data concerning export and import flows for September 2022. Data from Kosovo's Foreign Trade and Goods points to a higher trade deficit for 6.5% in September 2022, in proportion to the same period in 2021, worth 401.1m euros, compared to the deficit of 376.5m euros in 2021.
Export covers import by 16.1%. Exports of goods in September 2022 stood at 77.0m euros, while imported 478.1m euros, which is a 1.9% increase for export and 5.8% for imports, compared to the same period in 2021.
According to key export data: 23.6% of exports make up basic metals and articles; 16.4% make up different products produced; 15.9% make up plastics, tires and products from them; 83% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 8.2% make up mineral products; 5.6% make up plant products, etc. While, according to key group data for import: 17.5% make up mineral products; 12.2% make up basic metals and articles; 12.0% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 11.2% make up machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment; 6.6% make up transport vehicles; 6.5% plastics, tires and articles from them; 6.3% make up chemical industry products, etc.
While, according to key group data for import: 17.5% make up mineral products; 12.2% make up basic metals and articles; 12.0% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 11.2% make up machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment; 6.6% make up transport vehicles; 6.5% plastics, tires and articles from them; 6.3% make up chemical industry products, etc.
Kosovo exports to EU countries reached 28.9m euros, or about 37.6% of total exports, with an increase of 31.3%. Key partners for export of goods to the EU are: Germany (12.7%), Italy (5.8%), the Netherlands (3.9%), Slovenia (3.3), etc.
Kosovo imports from EU countries stood at around 193.6m euros, or 40.5% of total imports, with an increase of 12.6%. Imports with higher turnout were from: Germany (10.1%), Greece (6.6%), Italy (4.5%), Slovenia (3.1%), etc.
In September 2022, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries reached 28.1m euros, or 36.6% of total exports, with an increase of 12.1%.
Key export partners from CEFTA countries are: Northern Macedonia (11.9%), Albania (11.5%), Serbia (7.7%) and Montenegro (4.1%).
While imports from CEFTA countries in September 2022 reached 85.1m euros, or 17.8% of total imports, with an increase of 0.8%.
The countries with the highest share in import was: Serbia (7.0%), Northern Macedonia (4.6%), and Albania (4.0%).
Kosovo exports with other countries of the world reached 19.8m euros, or 25.8%.
As more important partners from these export countries, it's worth mentioning: US (10.3%), Switzerland (8.6%).
While Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 199.3m euros, or 41.7%. The countries with the highest share in import in this group were: Turkey (15.9%) and China (10.1%).
