US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has called on Pristina and Belgrade to resolve the license plate issue peacefully.

State Department spokesman Ned Price was asked about Secretary Blinken's message to Pristina and Belgrade, given that the October 31st deadline is fast approaching for mediating the license agreement on license plates, as he reaffirmed US support for Serbia-Kosovo talks.

Price, among other things, said Blinken has also spoken with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, said both called for continued commitment to ensure peace and stability, Klakosova reported.
“This is why Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gabel Escobar was in Pristina and Belgrade to support this process. As you know, the Secretary himself has been deeply involved in this. He spoke with Serbian President Vuciq and Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti earlier this month, on 11 October, I believe it was. The most recent talks between Belgrade and Pristina saw an inevitable stalemate, and the hope of mutually acceptable solutions was dim. What all behind the scenes agree on is that strong US involvement is what is needed.
