Blinken in Albright's words addresses the Forum for Women, Peace and Security: It defended NATO intervention

At the opening of the first edition of the Forum for Women, Peace and Security, which begins work today in Pristina, and is held at the initiative of President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, participants addressed with a video address, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Secretary Blinken said the Forum [...]
Secretary Blinken said the forum, organised by President Osmani, brings together two things that were very fond of Secretary Madeleine Albright: the people of Kosovo and the empowering of women.
He has thanked President Osmani for organising this Forum and NDI for his support. According to him, Secretary Albright when asked what makes her proud during her ministry for many decades, Kosovo always said.
According to him, on his last visit to Pristina in 2019, Secretary Albright has again defended NATO intervention in Kosovo in 1999.
Kosovo's “War was a confrontation between barbarous killings and needed force, between violent intolerance and respect for human rights, between tyranny and democracy. We won because our alliance was united and strong. Most importantly, we succeeded because our cause was right and because of the people of Kosovo”, the Secretary of Blyken quoted Mrs. Albright as saying.
According to him, Secretary Albright fought for women's engagement in all aspects of peace building and security decision making, in part because she had seen the change taking place when they were given a voice.
Mrs. Albright has also encouraged Kosovo women, when in 2005 she had said the country's future would depend on a non-small measure - on opportunities that the country's women will be offered.
“A will give them an equal chance to excel in class, to succeed in the workplace, to follow their dreams in any area of engagement that may choose to become business or doctors, journalists, computer programmers, even the president of Kosovo prime minister?” quoted Blinken, stating that since then, Kosovo has voted two women president, respectively, two more than the United States.
He has also mentioned Iranian women with their own cause against oppression, as well as Cubans, who continue to protest by calling on the regime to respect human rights and satisfy the basic needs of people.
In his address, Blinken has also stopped at President Putin's brutal fight against Ukraine, citing a thought by Mrs. Albright.
It constantly reminded us of the importance of staying in front of tyrants and provocations, as well as of preventing the force-use countries from rewriteing the borders of another and defending the principles of the UN Charter and international law”, has quoted Blinken, Mrs. Albright.
At the end of his address, Blinken said that by following Mrs. Albright's orders, we will prevail again.
