Americans once again turn to Kurt: Postponing Target Time to Avoid Tensions

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is facing numerous demands to postpone implementation of the decision on plates issued in Kosovo by Serbian authorities. He, today, also spoke over the phone with American Special Adviser Derek Chollet. Kurti himself, in his announcement, has not provided details on the discussion that he [...] has discussed.
Kurti himself, in his announcement, has given no details about the discussion that has been held about the government's deadline for plates by 31 October, but Chollet has announced that the discussion has been about the importance of delaying implementation of the decision to avoid tensions.
“I spoke today with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to discuss the importance of avoiding tensions and delaying implementation of the new license plates decision without seizures or fines. We also discussed the common partnership and goals to advance Kosovo's European and Euro-Atlantic integration”, has notified Chollet.

Cholle's call has also joined the United States of America's ambassador to Kosovo, Jeff Hovenier, who has distributed announcements and said it is important to avoid tensions and postpone the decision on license plates.
Important to avoid tensions and postpondation of new license plates. We also condition actions to install or reform against those who have changed their plates. https://t.co/LkujTKOopf

Hüvenier has also condemned revenge acts against Serbs who have already converted plates.
The key “to avoid Tensons and postpone the decision to implement license plates. We also condemn the intimidating or retaliatory actions against those who have converted their license plates”, the Ambassador Havener wrote.
In an earlier Kurti report concerning the discussion with Cholle, he has not indicated the American official's demands, but has said he has thanked him for his continued US support for Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integrations.
I spoke with American Special Adviser Derek Chollet today and thanked him for continuing support for Kosovo for Euro-Atlantic integration. As shown in @The WJP Report 2022, Kosovo ranking as the first in WB6 and the second most improved at the global level, we again testify that rule of law goes hand in hand with peace, security and democracy”, Kurti wrote.
