According to rescue teams, the 27-year-old died in the country after his car slipped into the town of Hacılar in Gölbaşı neighbourhood.
Ahmet Calik began his professional career with Genclerbiliği before wearing Galatasaray fans for three seasons, then Konyaspor.
Kosovo assailant Vedat Muriqi has also reacted to his death. He expressed much grief over the death of his former fellow fighter.
I'm so sorry and I don't know what to say. I'm sorry for the loss of a friend, a colleague and a very good brother with whom I fought for the same fan. May my brother rest in heaven, you are always in our hearts. Sorry for your loss”, write Muriqi.
