At the conference for media held Thursday, Greep has provided up-to-date information on recent developments regarding judicial procedures and activities in this court, reports “The Justice Vow “.
It has made it known that in the Thaci case and others on Tuesday, on January 25th, a revised public version of the decision by the preliminary procedure judge was handed over, with which it ordered further detention of Hashim Thaci.
“The judge of the preliminary procedure found that the danger of the accused obstructing procedures or committing other crimes could be sufficiently eased through the framework for monitoring communication of the detention facilities of Special Chambers”, Greep said.
On the other hand, she indicated that on Friday, January 21st, the court 1 ordered further custody of Salih Mustafa.
According to her, the judges found that the risk of obstructing the procedure's performance continues to exist, including the risk of intervention in victims and witnesses.
On January 25th, 2022, the last witness called by the prosecution testified in the case of Salih Mustafa for the chain of command, communication modalities and UCK's movements in the Gollak region. In addition, the witness testified to the UCK BIA unit and its role in April 1999. He further testified about the offensive of Serbian forces in the Zllash area during the second half of April 1999”, she has said.
Greep said the witness has testified without protection. Meanwhile, he added that next week, on February 1st 2022, the last witness called by the prosecution is expected to begin the testimony in the case.
The procedure is expected to close the issue on February 4th. On February 11th, the defense and lawyer of the victims will present their respective lists of witnesses and evidence”, she said.
It has said that on February 17th and 18th the court will hold a conference on the performance of the case in the presence of the prosecution, defence, the victims' lawyer and the administrative office to discuss the future phases of the case.
According to her, the court will then decide on the number and modalities of witnesses to be heard, the dates and schedules of sessions.
In the case of Gucati and Haradinaj, the third witness called by Haradinaj's defence testified on Friday, January 21st.
The witness testified to the area of definition and jurisdiction of signaling. The fourth witness, called by Haradinaj's defence, began his testimony Monday on January 24th through video binding”, she has said.
According to her, the fourth witness has testified to control and selection operations at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
His witness will continue on Friday, January 28, 8:00. After this evidence, the court will listen to the defence and prosecutor's parades for the next steps to be taken in this case”, Greep suggested.
