The Rome Cassation Court has confirmed the nine-year prison sentence for the former striker of Real Madrid and Milan, Robinho and his friend Ricardo Falco, for group violence against a 23-year-old Albanian. So the complaint filed by the lawyers of former Milan player, who had named the relationship “consensual”, was rejected. The facts date from 2013, when the Brazilian was playing red. The first sentence was in 2017, later confirmed by the Milan Court of Appeal.
According to various reconstructions of the event over the years, Robinho and a group of friends went to a Milane bar, where the girl celebrated her birthday. After they gave him drinks until he lost his feelings, Robinho and Falco raped the Albanian in the bar's wardrobe.
As stated in Milan's Court of Appeals, the former redheader and his friend have shown exceptional contempt “against the victim “who was brutally humiliated”. The sentence is final, with immediate execution. Now, Corriere della Sera points out, Italian justice must file a formal request for the extradition of Robinhos and his friend to Brazil, which should then launch an internal assessment.
