Seven times world champion Michael Schumacher turned 53 today. Germany has suffered a terrible accident eight years ago and has not yet recovered.
In December 2013, while on a ski trip with his family, Schumacher suffered a serious brain damage as he descended from Combe de Saulre near Meribel in the French Alps with his son Mick. As he passed an area off the track between Pyte Chamois and Pyste Maudui, he fell and hit his head on a cliff.
Despite carrying a ski helmet, he suffered catastrophic injuries. Schumacher was rushed to the hospital and kept in coma after the dramatic accident, while doctors worked to save the racing champion.
Because of its F1 history, the former pilot remains an inspiration for many people on the current F1 network.
In life, the German is already a legend, as evidenced by the way colleagues and his descendants on the F1 network see him. His family has not told much about Schumacher's current situation. What we know is that he is still alive and is 53 years old today.
