The Albanian Football Federation reports that its official site has been attacked by hackers and that it currently remains blocked. In a communication on social networks, the FSHF explains that the attack on the site has political background and is linked precisely to denouncing Erjon Veliaj's speech at the meeting with delegates of the Regional Football Association Tirana.
Today was very tense because of elections for the head of Tirana Regional Football Association, which included political actors like Tirana's mayor Erjon Veliaj, who openly unveiled his intention to take over even football in the country.
Here's the FSHF announcement:
In an unprecedented event, the football government's website has been aggressively attacked by hackers and closed today after publishing the shocking facts about the flagrant intervention of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj in the Tirana Regional Football Association elections. At the moment we're talking, the site is still closed because of this obvious political background attack.
The FSHF condemns this scandalous political attack and calls on them to withdraw as soon as this tactic can have serious consequences for anyone involved in this shameful act. Despite this attack, the Albanian football community will continue to denounce all interference, attacks and political pressures and will not back down in the face of blackmail and threats of power.
