The Assembly of the Sery A Football League after a meeting with the country's government, urgently assembled to address issues created by the explosion of the COVID wave, has decided to take action itself before the Italian government is the one to intervene and completely shut down the stadiums.
Thus, the planned matches for the weeks of the Group A championship on January 16th and 23rd will see the capabilities of the stadiums reduced to only 5,000 spectators per match.
And in all cases, no traveling fans will be allowed, preventing support transfers. Meanwhile, for this January 9th weekend, as well as for Italy's Supercup between Inter and Juvenus, the decision to have a 50% capacity will remain in force.
All video-conferencing clubs participated in the Assembly, and the decision was made after Prime Minister Mario Dragi's call yesterday for Italian football to think about continuing the championship without fans.
