Republika Albania's citizen, Miri Duka, was sentenced to 6 months in prison on bail and 500 euros in fines after acknowledging that he bribed the police at the border checkpoint in Vmica.
The indictment against him was proclaimed Thursday by Judge Raima Elezi, after Duka was initially convicted, reports the “Justice Vowif”.
At the initial session held on the same day, following reading the indictment by prosecutor Mehdi Sefa and after consulting his lawyer, Avni Berisha, accused Duka pleaded guilty to the criminal act of bribery.
Under these circumstances, Judge Elez later pronounced the case, under which the prison sentence would not be executed unless the Duke committed another criminal act within a year.
It is also obliged to pay 50 euros in the name of the judicial and 50-euro paushal on behalf of the programme for compensation of crime victims.
The court also ruled that the 10-euro banknote was seized as a tool for committing criminal acts.
Judge Elez made it known that the parties have a right to complaint against this ruling at the Court of Appeals, in the 15 days range from the day of acceptance of the same in written form.
Otherwise, with the plea of the indictment against the accused's detention measure, which lay on January 8th.
The Basic Prosecutor's Act in Prizren, founded on January 19th, 2022, charges Miri Duka that on January 8, 2022, about 00:15 minutes, at the Vermica border crossing, indirectly benefits the official person, border police Abdullah Shala, so that he does not comply with his official office.
Always according to the indictment, Duka during the crossing of the Vremica border point from the Republic of Kosovo to the Republic of Kosovo with the type truck “Mercedes”, to create ease for himself since there was no sealed authorization for running the truck by owner Milaim Thaqi, introduced the required documents from the police official, where in the midst of documents in the vehicle's driving permit had placed 10 euros.
For this, according to the prosecution he has committed the criminal act “The bribe code” by Article 422, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code, which is punishable by fine and imprisonment for up to five years.
