BMW i3 retires in July

The bavarese company has officially announced to Drive magazine that the latest electronics on this model will emerge from production in July, marking the end of the model 13, after nine years and after about 250,000 specimens handed over worldwide.
In fact, BMW has stopped producing i3 for the American market since 2021, which means that until the complete departure this summer of i3 will be available only in Europe and in some Asian countries.
Although the car has been on sale for almost a decade, this German manufacturer's move conflicts with earlier reports that the i3 will remain on the market by 2024.
The 3rd model is currently produced in Leipzig, and after its departure BMW will work on preparing the factory for the production of the new generation model Mini County, which will begin assembly in the second half of this year.
The 3rd model will not have direct offspring, but will be replaced by the fully electrical X1 crossors based on the third generation BMW X1. This model will initially be assembled at the BMW's factory in Regensburg, meanwhile by 2024, will be moved to Debrecen, Hungary.
BMW i3 was launched in 2013, two years after its concept was introduced. The carostry has been worked on by carbon fibers and has three battery options, with an autonomy of 130 to 246km. A version of greater autonomy (with an additional gasoline engine that served as a power generator) was offered to several European markets between 2014 and 2018, but was abandoned in the meantime.
