AP: Serbia strengthens co-operation with Russia, accused of destabilising Kosovo

By Associated Press, whose writing was reported by other media in the world, Serbia's president on Monday praised Russia's latest shipment of weapons despite fears in the Balkans that strengthening the country's military could lead to new tensions.
Vuciq took part in a military exercise near Belgrade, which used the system against recently purchased armor “Kornet”, which he said was one of the best of its kind in the world.
“Kornet is an important defence tool to prevent any possible aggression against our country”, Vuciq said.

To join the EU, Serbia needs the support of all EU member states, but the government has maintained cool relations with neighbouring Croatia, the last new member to join the bloc.
According to the AP, Croatia, which is a member of NATO, is in a <x0 minute arms race” with Serbia, and has recently received six MiG-29 fighter aircraft used by Russia and four others by Belarus. In November, the Croatian government announced the purchase of 12 Rafale fighter aircraft from France.
