The defender of Manchester City, Benjamin Mendy, accused of rape and sexual aggression, has finally seen light at the end of the tunnel, having been released on parole after the nightmare passed for more than four months in prison.
The 27-year-old was charged with aggression against five women between October 2000 and August 2021. Mendy, present at a court hearing in Chester, has been in prison since his arrest in August.
The French national player faces seven counts of rape and one for six sexual aggressions. His trial was due to begin this month, but it is now official that it will not begin until June.
Mendy has been released on bail until 24 January, when another preliminary session is scheduled. The left defense agent has played with current Premier League champions since 2017, when he signed from Monaco for 52 million pounds. Mendy was arrested and indicted 26 August. The parole was previously denied in three cases.
