Adam: Challenge gave Kosovo much, but sharing with it was inevitable

From the National to the integration of the VAR and future projects. The president of the Kosovo Football Federation, Agim Ademi, analyses Kosovo football in 2021 in an interview for Kosovo Press, which despite the difficulties brought by the pandemic, he thinks there were visible results.

Kosovo's national has had a year of disappointing results, which also led to the disruption of co-operation between FFK and Swiss coach Bernard Challandes. Ademi thinks the former coach has given much to Kosovo, while having no luck with the players' injuries.

  “From Arben Zenel's injury we could never be compact and completely the team that was set to be on the first 11th. Arber Zenelli is seen to be very valuable on our team. Then the change of key footballers, changing teams by making other contracts that have gone to other teams, and changing the game system has made these football players in poor shape. [...] I thank Challandes for the work he did because a coach who becomes first champion in the League of Nations for us has not been a small result, then 14 fights without any losses is not easy to do. [...] So I've considered a job that made it zealous, so I've endured it until the last moment, until the moment that it just took me to break up with Challandez for the fact that we thought there was nothing more to give on this team”, Ademi said.

Ademi claimed that the divide with Chalande was friendly but inevitable and that perhaps it could have happened even faster.

 “Ndar has been friendly, completely friendly, and it has been clear to even Challande because he's an experienced man and he has seen that I've been through the expectation until the end and he has also known me as fair and a thank you had been waiting until the last moment because maybe he's willing or with soccer forms had to be separated a little earlier but we've waited for a few matches and finally came the moment that Chandi has been through after me, regardless of whether he would have even won this match or if he lost it had lost, because there's been something else going to happen anyway, because we've been looking for something else that we've been looking for, because we can't qualify for this generation for Kosovo. So from now on, with every coach I'm contracting, of course we're looking for results because Kosovo has the time of results, has the time of qualifications”, Ademi said.

The young coach has not yet been chosen, and this, according to Adam, will not be done until March.

He says the new selection will require results and will seek to change mentality within the team by always fighting for qualifications and not just to play.

 The “should initially be a working coach, the second one who recognizes our mentality and knows most of the players, then there is the economic issue as a criterion, and of course, we will make agreements with them in the new format that is made. The result anyway, we ask because there's no coach at all costs I don't believe he can be in the world that he can guarantee the qualifications because there's nothing in football, but we have to work to get there, but at least our targets are for qualifications and he has to do his job to be a qualifying team, not a team just to stay in this group, Ademi said further.

Elements required by federation leaders do not mean that they cannot be found at a local coach, and that Ademi says he dreams someday to appoint a Kosovo coach at the head of the national team.

Returning to Kosovo football, Ademi's 2021 calls it a difficult year but not without results.

 And I'm very happy that it's all over okay and I can even say that this year we've raised the level of races, but also the organization and investment financing and all. Despite all this, I take the opportunity to thank you UEFA and FIFA who helped us, especially U n EFA from Hat-Trick, which is a commission that makes investments in projects that have federations, as well as our sponsors, we've managed to keep football alive or keep it at the right level given that the biggest burden was carried by club sponsors or club investors. [...] There may have been a few lameness somewhere, but the general one is very good for itself because competition has developed and are developing in the best possible way. So I can say it's a year, against pandemic, a successful year of Kosovo football in all categories”, Ademi said initially.

He says we can see a Kosovo VAR team in international competitions very soon.

 “E we've done more quickly and it's like an example at UEFA even in FIFA that for the first time has become such a fast and even successful VAR and very successful means that it's done with all conditions and all the rates that become a VAR in the world. Not only are we the first, but we're the few countries we've made for so long. It's not that all the countries of the world or all the federations have VAR, even though its dedication has been enormous for our federation, but I thank them so much that the repayment and payment of all the expenses that have been made and the dedication of this VAR has made FIFA very complete that it seldom does to any federation. [...] And it's been shown successful, of course, and it's shown successful, and besides taking it seriously, I can say most of them have perfected their work and we can easily see it at the World Championship now in Qatar that a Kosovo VAR team will be in international competitions, as other teams in Kosovo come. ”, made the first FFK known.

But the VAR will not be the last move in terms of the digitisation of Kosovo football. Ademi finds that it will continue further in this direction, so that even players' shoes and balls in training are digitised to create a database for the effectiveness of players' work.

 We've done the catapults, we've sent them to clubs, they have the opportunity to see themselves as footballers have the capacity. Finally, Ademi announced that the Kosovo Football Federation has completed all projects planned during 2021, until he added that this route will continue even in 2022, where much infrastructure investment will be realised, citing the construction of another training camp for young people, as well as a major job in increasing the quality of the local championship.
