VV Trust in Mitrovica versus Agim Bahtiri: There are many against it, but blackmail and temptation to position have silenced it

Ramadan Beshiri, Vetevendosje activist in Mitrovica, in a conversation for Periscope, has said he has even raised his voice to the party's leadership ( VV, centre, against Agim Bahtiri's candidacy for chairman.

I went against this decision because I think it's an insult to civil intelligence running for the third consecutive time of Agim Bahtiri. Also, we in the Vetevendosje office have always discussed that two mandates, even legally, should be enough for a mayor because it passes somewhat, becomes authoritarian with the third mandate. It means eight years is enough to create community management and development. Even a third term would be excessive”, Beshiri said in a conversation about Periscope.

He says there are numerous voices against Agim Bahtiri in Mitrovica, but that according to him, they are silent due to blackmail and temptation for positions.

Some of them have been silenced by blackmail and temptation for office, for directors. But there are many voices in the VV, men and women who were for radical reform, which would turn us into the find of the Vetevendosje Movement in the governance of the municipality with social democracy. It is only public in social networks that the frustrations of many activists of the Vetevendosje Movement, among them the senior activists of the Movement, who have come up against this VVA leadership decision. After all, we will live in Mitrovica, not the headship or the competent organs, so we are against this decision. We are in the Vetevendosje Movement, we will stay as activists, but we will maintain the political concept by opposing decisions that we think are not right”, Beshiri told Periscope.

He also relates an open letter written earlier to Kurt and Vetevendosje.

The X-rays I wrote open were exactly when Mr. Bahtiri's running was officially run. Through that letter, I have expressed all the resentment I've had over the years not to reform the VV therefrom branch in Mitrovica. I haven't received an answer from our chairman, Prime Minister Kurti, but I've obviously had meetings with the Hierarchy of the Movement under Mr. Kurti, who have been calling for consensus, this time has been such a candidacy, and we need to run Mr. Bahthir again. But I didn't approve of this decision and I'm standing in these positions which are”, he said.

He has said that VV, a mentality has been created that to make opposition within the party, you are immediately labeled belonging to a certain group.
