Turkey's representative General Director Hamit Altıntop explained that Kuntz had been the main candidate since the beginning, while former Germany coach Jurgen Klinkmann, and Ukrainian Andriy Shevchenko were also cited as potential candidates.
Turkey has not qualified for the World Finals since that impressive (third) performance in South Korea and Japan in 2002.
Kuntz's first match at Turkey's helm will be against Norway on October 8th, while three days later the transfers with Latvia await it.
