Group B leads Spain with 10 points followed by Sweden by 9. The leader of the group goes directly to Qatar 2022 while second place plays play-off.
“Kosovo 1:1 Greece: Tragicly, the National lost the train to Qatar”, was the title of the match report in the Greek daily Ethnos.
“Greece will try to remain in the race mathematically on Wednesday (against Sweden), however, the Qatar train has fled and the national team never boarded at”, says Ethnos's report.
Van Sip's <x0 plan for Qatar failed in Pristina”, was the title of the next Greek daily, Tovima.
Greece will face Sweden on Wednesday in Athens, while Kosovo hosts Spain in Pristina.
These two matches will eventually decide the fate of Group B, with Kosovo and Greece remaining mathematically only in the race.
