Neighbors have objected, with the pretext that concrete buildings do not match the appearance of Kapazinerberg neighbourhood. According to the newspaper, neighbours say their quality of living would be extremely damaged by the project.
The lawyer of a resident who is opposing the project has told Basler Zeitung that Rheinfelden's spatial development concept envisioned the Kapazinerberg neighbourhood in a quiet, one-family green area, albinfo.ch. And there doesn't seem to be much green on Shaqiri's construction project.
The application for construction of the villa is still pending in the town of Rheinfelden and has not yet been assessed.
