Coeman surprised many when he refused to answer the journalists' questions and read a statement before leaving the conference room Wednesday.
Laporta has now indicated that he was notified by Koeman just before he went to the conference before the match with Cadizin.
“We realised at the last minute that he wanted to make that statement and he is obliged to go out at the conference and is free to respond and speak as he wants to”, Laporta told Coemani.
“We respect the coach's decision, but we and the captains realized it just before it happened”, he added.
