Milan's defender, Simon Kyar and Danish medical staff have been rewarded by Europe's largest football home, UEFA.
Kyar and the Danish team doctors won the UEFA 2021 President's Award after saving the midfielder's life, Christian Ericksen.
The Inter midfielder collapsed unconsciously in the field after undergoing a heart attack during Denmark's first match against Finland at the European Championship “Euro2020”.
The captain, Kyar and medical staff's rapid reaction makes Eriksen escape the worst.
“This year, the president's award exceeds football,” said the president of U n EFA, Alexander Ceferin.
“It serves as an important and eternal reminder of how precious life is and puts everything in our lives in the clearest perspective,” he added.
