In two rounds, Premier League conducted 3060 tests between August 16th and August 22nd, as 12 positive cases were recorded in the first round and four others in the second.
The figures, the BBC writes, marked further growth after nine positive cases in the first week and 11 in the week it ended on 15 August.
Premier League will face the two-week trial rule. The number of individuals tested in each club increased from 85 to 100.
Chelsea striker Christian Poulisic lost Sunday's match against Arsenal after testing positive with COVID-19, as did Gunner's defender, Ben White.
