Kosovo: Family violence reporting numbers increase, psychologists point to reasons

In a written response to Gazeta '%Enigma', Kosovo police have indicated that 235 cases of domestic violence were presented in June alone.

“Respects of domestic violence are sensitive cases, where in the country's 2021 level in January alone are 169 cases, February 148, March 168 in April and May by 206 cases, while in June with 235”, the PK's response is said.

In fact, the police's approach to such cases has reported more frequently, with 2,069 cases reported during 2020 alone, higher than the previous years.

The awareness of violence on one side and the handling of cases seriously has led to such cases being reported more frequently, for example. A total of 1,269 cases were reported in 2017, in 2017, 1,541 cases were reported in 2019, and 2 069 cases<x1 were reported in the response in 2020.

Contacted on this issue, psychologist Roon Kastracti has said that domestic violence directly violates the integrity of our welfare and manifests itself through the tendencies and causes of physical, psychological injuries and can significantly affect any age, gender, race, or sexual orientation.
