The government has called on citizens to gather at the main square in Pristina to host the Judo Olympic team, following its historic triumph at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics this month.
Judis are expected to return from Japan to Kosovo tonight around 8:00 p.m. after winning two Olympic gold medals in Tokyo 2020.
They will be hosted at a state ceremony at the Aeroprotin “Adem Jashar” and at “Zahir Pajaziti” Square in the capital will be organised a party at 20:30, in which the government calls for participation.
In a public call to the social Facebook network, the government wrote: “After the historic triumph in Tokyo, gold girls tonight return to Kosovo. We invite you to the great victory party, at 20:30, at “Zahir Pajaziti” in Pristina. ”
Kosovo won two gold medals in Tokyo, taking to three the total number of medals in its history at Olympic Games, following Majlinda Kelmendi's first Olympic gold medal in Rio 2016.
Distria Krasniqi won the gold medal in the 48kg category at the end of the week, which was the first for Kosovo in Tokyo and the first for her in her career. Nora Gjakova reiterated her success by winning the gold medal in the 57kg category.
Our country has only one racer left in Tokyo 2020, the possibility Egzon Shala.
Shala will face the Belarusan wrestler Dzianis Khajiankou in the first round of heavy weight, 125kg, on Thursday, August 5th.
