President Osmani has invited the European Union to be present with their Observation Mission.
“Today, I have shared the letter of the EU High Representative / European Commission Deputy Chairman Josep Borrell with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani informing him that, after its invitation, the High Representative has decided to establish an EU Election Monitoring Mission for Kosovo's October 17th 2021 local elections. The High Representative has thanked the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Election Commission for the dedication and speed with which they have worked to agree and signed an administrative agreement facilitating the deployment of Mission”, Ambassador Szunyog has said.
High Representative Borrell has voiced confidence that the final report of the Election Observation Mission will help support future efforts needed for electoral reform by addressing the remaining recommendations of EU election monitoring. He has wanted the President to hold the elections successfully.
